FLASHCARD QUESTION
Front
I walked into the dark, silent house and immediately felt a chill run down my spine. The floorboards creaked beneath my feet, and every shadow seemed to hold its breath. I knew my older brother was playing a trick on me, but I couldn't help the fear that was building in my stomach. I gripped the flashlight tightly, its beam dancing across the walls as I tried to convince myself that there was nothing to be afraid of.

FLASHCARD QUESTION

Despite their best efforts to experience the wilderness without difficulty, hikers and campers still become lost. When this happens, knowing how to be found is very important for a lost camper. If you think you are lost begin by stopping immediately and try remaining calm. Stay in one place. Check to see if you have lost sight of the trail. You can do this by marking your location and taking short walks in several directions, returning each time to your starting point.

The driving is the easiest part of my job. The cars stay out of my way but driving on ice covered roads is terrible. Driving on ice is like waiting for a time bomb to go off. The truck weighs 55,000 pounds and is 48 feet long. There is no way I am going to stop quickly on ice. So, I keep my distance from other cars.

You walk into the classroom, your backpack feeling heavy on your shoulders. You scan the room for an empty desk, your eyes landing on one in the back corner. As you sit down, you notice a note on the desk. You unfold the paper and read the scrawled message, a strange feeling of excitement building in your stomach. You wonder who left it there and what it means for your first day at a new school.

Leo scanned the crowded cafeteria, searching for an empty table. He felt his anxiety rising, a familiar knot tightening in his stomach. He wasn't sure if he should sit alone or try to ask someone if he could join them. Across the room, Anna laughed loudly with her friends, completely unaware of Leo’s quiet struggle. The cafeteria felt huge, and Leo wished he could just disappear.
