Bachelor Degree

Bachelor of Arts (BA)

An undergraduate degree focused on arts, sciences, or both. Essentially, "arts" encompasses fields that study human culture, society, and creativity, often with a focus on critical thinking, communication, and a broad understanding of the world.

Bachelor of Science (BS)

An undergraduate degree that typically focuses on scientific, mathematical, and/or technical fields. Common BS include biology, chemistry, physics, engineering, computer science, nursing, and psychology.

Degrees that focus on a specific field of study, such as a Bachelor of... Architecture (BArch), Fine Arts (BFA), Engineering (BEng), Business Administration (BBA), Law (LLB), etc.

Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)

A specialized one-year degree completed after your undergraduate degree. The B.Ed prepares students for work as a teacher in schools and is a professional requirement.

Associate Degree / Higher Diploma

An undergraduate degree awarded after a two-year course of study. Can be used to enter Year 3 of a Bachelor's Degree so you graduate in Year 4

Foundation Degree vs Foundation Year vs. Integrated Foundation Year

All are UK terms.

Foundation Degree: equivalent to two-thirds of an honours bachelor's degree (can complete a 1-year top-up to complete a Bachelor's)

Foundation Year: like a stepping stone between high school and university. You would need to apply for Year 1 entry for a Bachelor's

Integrated Foundation: Same as a Foundation Year but you automatically enter Year 1 of a Bacehlor's as long as you meet the minumum grade. No applicaiton necessary.
