Each country must decide how it will balance developing industry while at the same time protecting and preserving the environment. Ex. National Forests/Parks; Laws protecting endangered species.

Each country must determine how to protect the cultures and practices of the original inhabitants of the land while at the same time advancing economically. Ex. Aborigine culture in Australia; Native American culture in the U.S.; Maori culture in New Zealand.
