What is the difference between images prepared for the web and images prepared to be printed?

   Images that are being printed need to be of much higher resolution than those being used on the web.  Printed images need to be at least 300 dpi at the size it is going to be printed, while web images only need to be 72 dpi at the size they are being displayed.  Web images display in RGB format, while printed images print in CMYK.  The best format for print is eps or pdf, while the best format for the internet is jpg.
