What are supplementary angles?

Two angles that add up to 180 degrees. For example, if one angle is 120 degrees, the other must be 60 degrees to be supplementary.

Two angles that add up to 90 degrees. For example, if one angle is 30 degrees, the other must be 60 degrees to be complementary.

What are vertical angles?

Angles that are opposite each other when two lines cross. Vertical angles are always equal. For example, if two lines intersect and one angle is 40 degrees, the angle directly across from it is also 40 degrees.

What are adjacent angles?

Two angles that share a common side and a common vertex but do not overlap. For example, if two angles are next to each other and one is 50 degrees, the adjacent angle can be any measurement that does not overlap.
