Arab nomadic tribes that lived in the desert and frequently had feuds between neighboring tribes. If one tribe lost to another they would be killed or become slaves.

Also known as "the trusted one", Muhammad was the Prophet of Islam and was part of a Bedouin tribe. He was also a good merchant/trader, and was invited to Yathrib(Medina) to solve conflicts.

Home of the Ka'aba, Mecca is a city with a religious and economic center, trading center. There is no violence allowed when in Mecca, and it a place of peace and trade. Mecca also being the home of many different religions, such as Muslim, Christian, Arab, Jewish, and more around.

Later named Medina, Yathrib is a place best known as the city of the prophet. Muhammad traveled to Yathrib with his followers because they offered safe refuge to him if he could solve a conflict there

The Hijra was a journey that Muhammad's followers proved their devotion by leaving the sacred place of their ancestors and voyaging to Yathrib (Medina) with Muhammad.
