International Space Station Crew Conduct Spacewalk

Astronauts Chris Cassidy and Robert Behnken conducted a spacewalk to replace batteries on the International Space Station (ISS). This task is part of a series of spacewalks aimed at modernizing the ISS's power supply with new technology batteries, which offer more storage capacity and a smaller footprint. The batteries were delivered by a Japanese cargo capsule before the SpaceX Crew Dragon arrived. The spacewalks are challenging, requiring astronauts to work in alternating sunlight and darkness while orbiting Earth. Once completed, these upgrades are expected to last until the end of the ISS program.
