Learned Behaviour

Learned behavior is acquired through observation and practice, not inherited or coded in DNA. It varies across populations and is influenced by the environment. Examples include dolphins learning tricks and students responding to school bells. Key characteristics are non-inheritable, non-intrinsic, permutable, adaptable, and progressive. Types of learned behavior include habituation, where response to a stimulus decreases over time, and imprinting, where young animals follow the first object they encounter. Learned behavior contrasts with innate behavior, as it is learned from others and can change over time.
