VOICED : Guillermo del Toro gana Leon de Oro de Venecia

The 74th Venice Film Festival awarded Guillermo del Toro the Golden Lion for 'The Shape of Water', a film set in 1962 during the Cold War, depicting a love story between a mute woman and an amphibious creature. Del Toro dedicated the award to Mexican and Latin American directors. Other notable awards included the Silver Lion to Javier LeGuan for 'Custodia', which also won the Lion of the Future for best debut film. Martin McDonagh received the best screenplay award for 'Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri'. Acting awards went to Charlotte Rampling for 'Hanna' and Kamel El-Bashá for 'The Insult'. Samuel Maoz won the Grand Jury Prize for 'Foxtrot'.
