Edgardo Bausa, former coach of Argentina, has been appointed as the new coach of the UAE national football team. He signed a two-year contract to lead the team in their challenging World Cup 2018 qualification journey. The UAE team is currently fourth in their group, which includes Japan, Australia, and Saudi Arabia. Bausa was dismissed from the Argentine team after unsatisfactory results, with three wins, two draws, and three losses. Jorge Sampaoli, the Sevilla coach, is set to replace Bausa once he leaves the Spanish club.
