A king and queen long for a child, and a frog promises them a daughter. At her birth, a feast is held, but an uninvited wise woman curses the princess to die on her 15th birthday. Another wise woman mitigates the curse to a deep sleep. The kingdom falls asleep when the princess pricks her finger on a spindle. A thorn hedge grows around the castle. After 100 years, a prince arrives, the hedge parts, and he awakens the princess with a kiss. The kingdom awakens, and they marry, living happily ever after.
