VOICED : Cancion Loca de Shakira es plagio

A New York judge ruled that Shakira's Spanish song 'Loca' is an illegal copy of a song by Dominican singer Ramón Arias Vásquez. Arias claimed he wrote 'Loca con su tíguere' in the late 90s, which was later popularized by El Cata in 2007. Shakira's version, released in 2010, became a global hit. During the trial, Arias presented a cassette recording and performed live. Mayimba Music, holding Arias's rights, sued Sony Corp for copyright infringement. However, the judge found that Shakira's English version did not infringe Arias's rights.
