Sea lions, often seen as lazy beach dwellers, are actually skilled endurance hunters with remarkable adaptations for deep diving and hunting. They can dive up to 400 meters, using their flexible rib cage and lungs to manage pressure. Their vision is adapted for low light, and their sensitive whiskers help detect prey. Sea lions have excellent memories, remembering hunting grounds and social relationships for decades. However, climate change poses a threat, as warming oceans lead to toxic algae blooms that harm sea lions. Understanding these changes can help protect sea lions and other marine life.
