Edward O'Hare Awarded The Congressional Medal of Honor

Lieutenant Edward H. O'Hare was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor by President Roosevelt for his valor in combat. O'Hare's wife fastened the medal as officials congratulated him. He single-handedly shot down five enemy bombers and damaged another, protecting his carrier in the Pacific. Following his heroic actions, O'Hare was promoted to lieutenant commander, advancing two ranks.
