Congress Passes Government Funding, COVID Relief Bill

The Senate passed a COVID relief package with a 92 to 6 vote, providing $600 checks to most Americans. The package includes additional unemployment benefits, funds for the Paycheck Protection Program, rental assistance, and vaccine distribution. The bill, over 5500 pages long, was quickly passed by Congress. President-elect Joe Biden plans to introduce another relief bill after taking office. Lawmakers will reconvene on January 3rd for the next Congress session.
