Pioneer 10, the first space probe to leave the solar system, was launched in 1972 to study Jupiter. It provided crucial data that influenced the design of the Voyager probes. After reaching Jupiter, it confirmed the planet's liquid nature and mapped its radiation belts. Pioneer 11, its twin, explored Saturn and discovered new details about its rings. Both probes contributed to the understanding of the solar wind and the heliopause. Pioneer 10 is now on a journey towards Aldebaran, a star 68 light years away, which will take about two million years to complete.
