VOICED: Seguridad para elecciones en Rio

The army and navy have begun occupying dangerous favelas in Rio de Janeiro to ensure security during the upcoming municipal elections. Around 3,000 personnel are involved in the operation, which includes patrolling 17 favelas still under the control of drug traffickers. The military aims to support the Regional Electoral Tribunal and ensure a peaceful democratic process. Additional military reinforcements will be deployed to other cities in the state for the elections.
