For the first time in months, thousands of Muslims gathered without restrictions to pray at the mosque esplanade. Israeli forces suspended selective entry operations but maintained sporadic checks. This decision followed a meeting between U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Around 40,000 worshippers accessed the esplanade easily, where the Al-Aqsa Mosque, a significant site for both Muslims and Jews, is located. Recently, Jewish extremists increased visits, causing daily clashes in East Jerusalem.
