In Granizal, a town near Medellín, the Un Litro de Luz project uses plastic bottles filled with water and bleach to illuminate homes without windows, promoting clean energy. This initiative has transformed the lives of 8,000 residents, mostly displaced by conflict, saving families $8-12 monthly on electricity. To address nighttime lighting, solar panels and plastic bottles provide eco-friendly street lighting. This simple solution is being replicated in other poor areas of Colombia, enhancing the quality of life and supporting clean energy practices.
