Lequiño, a young monkey at the Rio de Janeiro Zoo, faced early life challenges after losing his mother at birth. His grandmother was unable to care for him due to her age. With dedicated veterinary care, including the use of diapers and bottles, Lequiño has been recovering well. Efforts were made to maintain his natural instincts for future adaptation. Despite potential emotional challenges, such as missing human caregivers, animals typically adapt well. Lequiño's diet includes milk and fruits, and he has grown from 340 grams to a kilo. The monobarde species is usually found in African savannas.
