The Lorraine Mondial Air Balloons festival in Chambley-Bussière saw over 400 hot air balloons from around 60 countries. The event, held every two years, featured a creative display of balloons launched from a former NATO base. This year's festival had more balloons than the previous edition in 2011, with 3,000 pilots and copilots participating. The festival began on a Friday and concluded on Sunday, August 4.
