VOICED : Gobierno de Chile accede a cambiar la Constitucion ante el clamor de la calle

The current constitution, inherited from Pinochet's dictatorship, lacks provisions for education and health as state responsibilities. Protests began on October 18, driven by dissatisfaction with an economic model that, despite its success, has led to societal inequality. The movement, known as 'Chile despertó', has significant public support. The crisis, unprecedented since Chile's return to democracy in 1990, has resulted in 20 deaths, numerous injuries, and allegations of torture and abuse.
