In Yemen, Houthi rebels captured the defense minister, Mahmoud al-Zubayhi, and took him to Sanaa. The Houthis, along with forces loyal to ex-president Ali Abdullah Saleh, seized Sanaa in January and are advancing towards Aden, where President Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi has taken refuge. The Yemeni government has requested urgent Arab military intervention to halt the insurgents. In response to the threat, Aden's residents have been allowed to arm themselves.
