A severe cold wave has hit Central and Eastern Europe, resulting in over 150 deaths. Countries like Poland, Ukraine, Bulgaria, and France are struggling with freezing temperatures. In Ukraine, temperatures have plummeted to -33°C in the Carpathians and -27°C in Kiev, leading to the establishment of 2,000 emergency shelters. France is also taking emergency measures to protect the homeless as temperatures drop to -10°C. In Turkey, heavy snowfall and polar temperatures are causing significant challenges, especially for street vendors in Istanbul.
