VOICED : Mascaras sagradas vuelven a sus tribus

Over 20 sacred masks will be returned to their tribes after being auctioned in Paris. The Annenberg Foundation purchased these masks for over half a million dollars to return them to native peoples. These masks, considered living beings by indigenous people, are used in religious ceremonies. Despite legal efforts by Survival International to halt the auction, the French court dismissed the case. Most masks belong to the Hopi tribe of Arizona. The return of these masks is a positive development for Amerindian communities, allowing them to reclaim part of their cultural heritage.
