Bodies Of 8 Military Recovered After Vehicle Sinks During Training

A training vehicle sank off Southern California's coast during a routine exercise, leading to the rescue of 8 Marines and the recovery of one deceased. The Marine Corps presumed the missing seven were dead after a 40-hour search. The vehicle was found at a depth of 385 feet and recovered. Operations of over 800 amphibious vehicles were halted pending investigation. The crew, aged 19 to early 30s, wore body armor and flotation vests.
