David Beckham visited Tacloban in the Philippines as a UNICEF ambassador to support humanitarian efforts after Typhoon Haiyan. He interacted with locals, many of whom were unfamiliar with him due to basketball's popularity over soccer in the region. The Beckham family has previously contributed to relief efforts by donating clothing for auction to benefit the victims.
