Samuel Morse and the Invention of Morse Code

Samuel Morse, an art professor at New York University, collaborated with Leonard Gale and Alfred Vail to develop a telegraph model in 1837. Initially, the model used a one-wire system with ticker tape, but it had decoding errors. Morse improved the system by creating Morse code, a series of dots and dashes representing letters and numbers, which could be sound-read by operators.
