VOICED : Kinshasa set to light up with electricity for first time

In Kembencke, a suburb of Kinshasa, candles and generators are common due to limited electricity access. Efforts are underway to connect 60,000 homes to the grid with aid from the World Bank. Despite challenges like corruption and theft, the community is protective of the new network. Future developments include dam construction, primarily benefiting mining companies and South Africa, but gradually improving local access.
