In Najaf, Iraq, a new bank branch exclusively for women has opened, featuring an all-female staff and clientele. The bank offers savings and current accounts in both Iraqi dinars and dollars, as well as loans for women. Within a week of opening, 50 women had signed up, with expectations of reaching 200 clients within a year. The bank's success is partly due to Najaf's status as a religious and economic hub. The initiative aims to empower women financially while respecting cultural norms. If successful, the bank plans to expand to other Iraqi cities.
