Lawyers: Nearly $1B Tentative Settlement In Condo Collapse

A settlement of nearly $1 billion was reached for the collapse of the Champlain Tower S condominium in Surfside, Florida, which occurred last June and resulted in 98 fatalities. The settlement involves insurance companies, developers of a nearby building, and other defendants. The Circuit Court judge expressed surprise at the settlement and is seeking final approval before the first anniversary of the tragedy on June 24th.
