Forests: Tropical Forests

Tropical forests near the equator are warm and wet, often called rainforests due to high rainfall. They receive at least 200 cm of rain annually, with warm temperatures year-round. The dense canopy and understory support diverse plant life, providing resources like chocolate and vanilla. Rainforests host numerous animal species, including the sloth. However, deforestation threatens their existence, risking disappearance within our lifetime.
