VOICED: Tick saliva could hold cancer cure: Brazilian scientists

Scientists in Sao Paulo discovered a protein in tick saliva that may cure cancer. Lab tests on rats showed tumors shrank and disappeared after 42 days without harming normal cells. The Butantan Institute is applying for a patent, but developing a medicine will take years and require collaboration with international drug companies.
