University Of Alabama Coronavirus Outbreak

In just six days, over 500 students tested positive for COVID-19 across three Alabama campuses. The university president deemed this rise unacceptable and announced that university police and local authorities would monitor off-campus residences and Greek houses to ensure compliance with mask-wearing and social distancing guidelines. Non-compliance could lead to suspension. Following the release of these numbers, Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox ordered all bars in the city to close for two weeks, while restaurants could remain open without bar service.
