Cow bred to produce low-lactose milk

The video discusses lactose intolerance, highlighting that up to 90% of people in parts of Africa and Asia cannot digest milk. Scientists have attempted to create low lactose cows by injecting genes from archaea into cow embryos, using cloning techniques similar to those used for Dolly the sheep. Out of 14 embryos, five calves were born, with three carrying the low lactose gene. Two calves died shortly after birth, and the surviving calf is expected to produce milk in two years.
