The video explains how Mars' red soil was formed. Millions of years ago, iron-rich rocks on Mars were eroded by flowing water. The oxygen in the water reacted with the iron to create iron oxide, a process known as oxidation or rusting. Over time, this iron oxide spread across the planet, giving Mars its distinctive red color.
