Rocket Man Eric Scott Sets New Altitude Record with Rocket Belt

Eric Scott, known as Rocket Man, attempted a new altitude record in London using a rocket belt. Developed in the 1960s by Bell Aerospace, the rocket belt was intended for military use but found limited applications due to its bulk and range. The belt uses pressurized nitrogen and hydrogen peroxide to create thrust. Scott's record attempt, lasting 30 seconds, reached 46 meters and was recognized by Guinness World Records. A former US Air Force officer and stuntman, Scott is the only current rocket belt performer, having appeared at major events like the 1984 Olympics and Michael Jackson's tour.
