VOICED : Chile protesta ante Francia por asilo a exguerrillero

Chile protested against France for granting political asylum to ex-guerrilla Ricardo Palma Salamanca, wanted for the murder of a senator during Pinochet's dictatorship. France justified the asylum by referencing Chile's history under military rule. Chile clarified that the murder occurred in 1991, after democracy was restored. Palma Salamanca escaped from prison in 1996 and was a fugitive for over 21 years until his arrest in France. Chile has issued an extradition order, which the Paris Court of Appeals will review.
