Bluegrass music, a unique American art form, originated in Kentucky with influences from Scottish and Irish folk music. Bill Monroe, known as the father of bluegrass, played a pivotal role in its development. He combined traditional folk with blues and jazz elements, forming the Bluegrass Boys in 1939. By 1946, the group had become a supergroup, defining the bluegrass sound. The genre has since spread globally, thanks to musicians like Jim and Jesse, the Osborne brothers, and the Stanley brothers.
