Researchers discover second oldest-known horned dinosaur species!

Researchers from George Washington University and the Chinese Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology have discovered a new species of plant-eating dinosaur in China's Gobi Desert. This dinosaur, which lived 160 million years ago, was about the size of a spaniel and walked on two legs. Unlike its horned relatives, it had no horns and was a distant cousin to the Triceratops. The discovery, alongside another species found in the same area, suggests that horned dinosaurs were more diverse during the Late Jurassic period than previously thought. The research indicates that other lineages existed at the time but have yet to be discovered.
