VOICED : Marcha en Buenos Aires por liberacion de lider social

Thousands marched in Buenos Aires demanding the release of Milagro Sala, a social leader and Parlasur member, imprisoned since January 16 for organizing protests and later accused of corruption. Sala leads the Tupac Amaru organization, linked to kirchnerismo, with historical roots in Jujuy, one of Argentina's poorest provinces. Protesters also criticized President Mauricio Macri, who took office in December leading a right-wing coalition. The government, only 40 days old, faces its first political prisoner, as Sala is accused of street protests. The march coincided with new raids in Jujuy, where computers and documents were seized from Sala's properties. Her defense filed a new habeas corpus for her release, but it was rejected by the justice system.
