Pope Pius XII Announces New Cardinals

Pope Pius XII announced the appointment of 32 new Cardinals, including four from the United States. Among them are Archbishop Samuel A. Stritch of Chicago, Cardinal designate Francis J. Spellman of New York, Archbishop Edward Mooney of Detroit, and Archbishop James Charles McGuigan of Toronto, Canada.
