The French liner Champollion ran aground off the coast of Lebanon, with over 300 passengers, many of whom were pilgrims. Despite international rescue efforts, including helicopters and planes, the situation was dire. Panic ensued, leading to tragic deaths. A Lebanese sailor heroically rescued 200 people, uniting passengers of different faiths in prayer and survival.
