Earth’s core cooling faster than scientists thought

Recent research indicates that Earth's core may be losing heat faster than previously thought. Scientists simulated core conditions by creating synthetic bridgemanite using a diamond anvil cell. Their findings revealed that bridgemanite's thermal conductivity is 1.5 times higher than earlier estimates, suggesting a significant role of radiative thermal conductivity in Earth's heat extraction process.
