Charles Lindbergh in Paris after his historic 1927 flight

Lindy, known as the Lone Eagle, completed a historic nonstop flight covering 3600 miles in 36 hours and 32 minutes. Lindbergh, along with Ambassador Eric and philanthropist Raymond Ortiz, celebrated this achievement. Ortiz was pleased to award the $25,000 prize he had offered in 1919 for the first nonstop flight from New York to Paris.
