Supreme Court Stands By Order Requiring Govt. To Move At-Risk Inmates

A judge ordered the relocation of at-risk inmates from an Ohio prison due to COVID-19, following an ACLU lawsuit. The lawsuit argued that keeping vulnerable inmates in the facility was cruel. A quarter of the prisoners tested positive, and nine died. A lower court ruled in April for the identification and release or relocation of prisoners, but the Bureau of Prisons opposed this, citing public safety risks. In May, the judge reinforced the order, and the Supreme Court allowed the Trump administration to file a new appeal.
