Pamela Troya and Gabriela Correa, who initiated the fight for marriage equality in Ecuador six years ago, finally got married in Quito. They chose the date to coincide with their first attempt to marry in 2013, which was denied. The Constitutional Court ruled in favor of same-sex marriage on June 12, aligning Ecuador with other Latin American countries recognizing LGBTQ+ rights.
