Buta Singh, a 34-year-old Sikh from India, sought asylum in the US after fleeing political and religious persecution in 2013. His arduous journey took him through Europe and Central America, facing numerous hardships. After reaching the US, Singh was detained and denied freedom, leading him to join a hunger strike. With the help of the Indian consulate, he was transferred to Seattle, where he now lives with his sister's family. Despite the ever-changing US immigration system, Singh remains hopeful for a positive outcome to his asylum case.
