Earwax, or cerumen, is a unique substance made of oils, dead skin cells, and trapped debris. It moisturizes and protects the ear canal. The ear canal's anatomy makes it hard to clean, but earwax naturally exits as we talk or chew. Earwax is produced by sebaceous and ceruminous glands, mixing with dead skin cells. It acts as a natural cleaner and defender, preventing dryness and blocking harmful particles. Excessive earwax can cause hearing loss, but using Q-tips is risky. Instead, use removal kits or consult a doctor.
