The UK is recruiting amateur historians to digitize over 1.5 million pages of WWI diaries. The project, called Operation War Diaries, is a collaboration between the National Archives, the Imperial War Museum, and Suniverse. Volunteers will transcribe and classify the diaries, which detail the experiences of officers on the Western Front from 1914 to 1918. This effort is crucial as many records were destroyed during WWII.
